Cheer [v.; cheer]: to encourage or incite.

I had the pleasure of taking my cute little cousin Lily to her very first football game earlier this season...how could this not make you want to say War Eagle?

hmmm...what can I get into?

First time to see the eagle....

Everyone get your hands up for Boddagetta!

Warrrrrrrrrrrr Eagle! Hey!

That beautiful little face just saw the AU football team run out
of the tunnel for the first time....it's a jaw-dropping experience.

Stuffed [v.; stuhfd]: to cram oneself with food; eat gluttonously; gorge.

Thanksgiving might possibly be my favorite holiday.  Other than food preparation, all you are expected to do is show up and eat and doze off as the tryptophan from the turkey kicks in.  I, like most of my peers, have lost the evasive gene that somehow our grandmothers and mothers received that allows them to create perfect masterpieces with ease. Until now....

My gene showed up on Wednesday! Who knew?  I think everyone balked at the fact that I was planning to bring part of the dessert (a quintessential component of the perfect Thanksgiving meal), especially considering that last year when I declared I wanted to help I was given the task of buttering the rolls and arranging an assortment of pickles....I know, sounds difficult right? Well this Thanksgiving I tried my hand at making Pecan Toffee, a recipe that requires a candy thermometer and includes words like "careful not to scorch" and "drizzle chocolate generously." Sounds delish right?  And might I say, it was quite tasty.

I left the pictures of the final product at home, but I promise to post once I retrieve them.  Thursday I took my finished product to my Grandmothers for the ultimate test...and I came home empty handed!  They actually were a hit and my little creations even received praise from my cousin Ash who is THE dessert chef and very few can bake anything that will compare with her. If you need a cake, let her know.  She's fantastic!  Luckily after lunch we had 3 little alarms to keep us from dozing off.  We played football and danced and laughed and played.  To sum up, Thanksgiving was a hit!...and so was my pecan toffee :-)  I hereby dub my baking personality to be called Gene!

Done [adj.; ˈdən]: arrived at or brought to an end

You start high school thinking that college seems so far away and that you can never imagine going to additional school after college because you are going to be SOOOOO tired of school by then.  However when you go to college, you realize it goes by too fast faster than the speed of light.  Therefore, you realize that maybe graduate school is not such a bad idea because it prolongs the inevitable of having to join the work force and become gainfully employed.  Unfortunately it goes by really quickly too...

I don't even want to give a proper mention to the institution of higher learning of which I received my degree (UA), but even though I take jabs at "that" school, I must say I met some wonderful people there and that's why I wanted to post a bit of a reminiscent montage of pictures to commemorate the ceremonies.  Please make sure to notice the hidden bit of sunshine pinned onto my robe...

Surprise [n.; sə(r)-ˈprīz]: an attack made without warning

Surprise of the day, compliments of Pandora.

Kevin Spacey sings...well.

Cool [adj., kewl]: very good, excellent (slang)

First I was a bit baffled because I don't understand why NASA didn't know that there is water on the moon, or maybe I just am not giving this event enough credit. Although I really am interested in this article, the main reason I thought it should be posted here was because I really like the witty first sentence:
"The argument that the moon is a dry, desolate place no longer holds water."
Ha!  :-)

Ouch [interj., awch]: used to express sudden pain

Of the numerous "Single Ladies" posts on Youtube, this is my favorite.  It really doesn't need much introduction, so without further adieu...

Start [v., stahrt]: to begin or set in motion

Since this is my second try at doing the blog thing and I'm not really sure how to start this one, I felt compelled to write a poem for my first entry (and because I was inspired by CayKy's recent list of haikus). So here goes...

There once was a blog named ChatterBox,
and to be honest, it kinda rocks socks?
But unfortunately it closed down,
because the author was always driving to T-town.

Thankfully, now I have more time,
as can be seen by this little rhyme.
I promise to post something every day.
Will it happen? It's hard to say...
