Slow [adj., slo]: taking forever to update your blog that you promised to write for everyday...

Ok so I know I have been a bad little blogger and that I have not been very good about posting new updates very often.  So I will do a brief recap of the past couple of weeks:

New Year's Eve: Because last year I stayed in Bham, Katie and I decided that this year we were going to be adventurous in our New Year's plans.  We decided to ask THE party planner of the South...Ansley...what we should do for New Year's.  She suggested that we visit her in Atlanta and go to this party thrown by people we didnt know at all.  I did not feel bad about this however because I had to buy a ticket to the event.  I was okay with this because the event boasted about having music, dancing, open bar and most importantly free food :-).  I has entirely too excited about the food which I was prepared to down once I got there. Because all of us felt entitled to have a drink or two (since we had paid for it afterall) we took a taxi to the party.  Fantastic idea!  The party was held near Atlantic Station in an architectural firm's swanky office.   Everything was worth the money....except for the food.  You can imagine to my dismay that I found 3 mostly eaten group trays from Chick-Fil-A and that was it. Bummer. Other than that we had a fantastic time!  Thank you so much Ansley for letting us crash with you!  You have to come visit us as soon as you can!

We stayed out on NYE until probably 4 a.m. and somehow KT and I manage to wake up and be in the car driving to Bham by 10 a.m. Atlanta time.  I dropped her off in Bham where I proceeded to the lake where I got to see the rest of my family!  All aunts, uncles and cousins including my mom and dad met up at my grandparents house at Lake Martin for a belated Christmas celebration.  It was wonderful and I really can't say how much I enjoyed the day.  Coltin, Chance and Lily have unlimited amounts of energy.  I do not haha.

Lily turned 4! This is so hard for me to swallow because it seems like just yesterday she was born.  She's growing up so fast and she speaks more perfectly than most grown-ups do.  She had her birthday at a place called Frog Legs, a bouncy house heaven for the young and young at heart, otherwise known as a germ factory.  I can't begin to tell you how difficult it was for me to abstain from ripping my shoes off, knocking a few kids out of the way and running up to the top of the blow up slide...but I did manage to contain myself.  She got a lot of wonderful gifts, but I do have to say that she loved the one that I gave her so boo-ya! I gave her this little spa kit, complete with spa robe, slippers, fake cucumbers and nail supplies.  Happy Birthday Lil!

The State of Alabama froze: I think the picture below pretty much sums up how it felt outside in the lowest temperatures Alabama has recorded at this time of year since 1984!

NYC!: No worries...this topic warrants its own post so stay tuned :-)
